2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season Starts Early
By: Lance Winslow
It is predicted that the 2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season will start early and finish late like the 2005 Hurricane Season. Of course if you live in Florida this is not good news. What is the safest city to live in for the Sunny State of Florida? Some say far North near into the pan handle where the elevations are higher along I-10. Others say they like Florida and want to live in areas that are known for being part of the Floridian Culture and ambiance?
So in this case is Central Florida one’s best bet? Orlando would be safer due to wind speeds are slowed after landfall so the further in the safer from the wind and the storm surges. Yet flooding can occur anywhere. If you are evacuating as required then you will not die, but there may not be anything to come back too if your home is not of adequate structure and if the entire area is destroyed you may not want to anyway, as many have chosen not to return to areas of the Gulf Coast hit by Katrina and Rita this year.
It is good that residents of Florida are somewhat concerned and perhaps this will persuade them to think ahead and find ways to protect their property and evacuate on a timely basis during the 2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season. Glad to see Florida is on the ball when it comes to Hurricanes. Keep thinking on ways to make it safer in Florida and concepts and ideas to protect life there when the big Hurricanes come in 2006.
