Anniversary Gifts - Thirty-Second Anniversary
By: Michael Russell
Well, here you are at your thirty-second anniversary. If you’ve had trouble thinking of anniversary gifts up to this year, it doesn’t get any easier. This year’s modern anniversary gift idea needs a dictionary lookup just to understand exactly what it is, unless of course you deal with these on a regular basis.
This year’s modern gift idea is conveyances. If that sounds like a strange term to some of you, a dictionary definition of this puzzle says “the act of communicating, making known, leading, channeling, transmitting or the transfer of a title, such as a car”.
If all of this sounds like a lot of mumbo jumbo to you, you’re not alone. The truth is, the gift idea for anniversary number 32 really does require an enormous amount of brainpower and imagination. Never fear. We think we’ve come up with some dandy ideas, even if we had to stretch the definition just a little bit.
The act of communicating covers a lot of ground, including sending cards and letters. Now obviously you don’t want to just get a card for your spouse on this special day. Maybe you might want to put something in it, like a nice check or gift certificate so they can get whatever they want. And while we’re on the subject of cards, why not make a home made card? Your spouse is sure to appreciate the effort, even if you aren’t the most artistic person in the world.
If the card and check idea isn’t exactly your thing, there is always the candy-gram. Though not as popular as when they first came out, candy-grams are still a lovely gift. Just have one sent to your home with a nice balloon arrangement and you’re good to go. The same thing can be done with flowers. FTD is one of the most popular “we deliver” florists in the world.
Of course, if you really want to take this gift idea to the extreme, you can look at the last part of that definition. Yes, the part that says the transfer of a title, such as a car. Certainly, after 32 years of marriage they haven’t taken away your spouse’s drivers license yet. So why not get him or her a new car? Of course, to make it legit, you have to buy it in your name, which will put the title in your name and then after the ink dries you’re going to have to transfer the title to your spouse. Legally, depending on where you live, you may have to actually sell the car to your spouse for a dollar. You’ll have to check with your local laws.
If a car is maybe too much of an expense for you, the same thing can be done with something smaller, like a boat or motorcycle. Of course, you don’t see too many people married 32 years driving around on motorcycles. You might want to stick with the boat.
Granted, finding an anniversary gift for this special occasion isn’t going to be easy, but with a little thought, you’ll pull it off just fine.
