Anniversary Gifts - Thirty-Third Anniversary
By: Michael Russell
If you’ve just recovered from your last anniversary gift-buying nightmare, it gets a little easier this year, though a lot more expensive unless you went with the car for number 32. This year begins a several year run of gemstones, starting with Amethyst.
Amethyst is probably one of your better-known gemstones. It’s kind of hard to describe but if you were looking at one it would look kind of purple or lavender depending on the light. You can find this stone in parts of certain rocks. Even though this is a very common gemstone, it is still one of the most beautiful and depending on what you’re buying, can also cost you a pretty penny. So if you’re wondering what items you could get that would contain such a stone, hopefully this article will give you a few basic ideas.
If you want to go with an unusual gift, you might want to consider an amethyst druze. These are difficult to describe but they look like odd shaped rocks. If you’re thinking why you’d want to get something like that for your spouse for your anniversary, there is a bit of a myth about these items. Supposedly, an amethyst druze will take away the negative energy from the things around it. Okay, maybe it sounds a little corny, but if your spouse is into those mystical things, this may just be the gift to get.
These druzes come in all shapes and sizes. They aren’t very expensive. The smaller ones can be purchased for about two or three dollars while the largest ones will cost you about seven or eight dollars. Naturally, if you were to get your spouse a druze for his or her anniversary, you’ll want to get either a collection of them or other items to go with them.
If you want something with a little more meaning, you can always get your spouse a nice amethyst angel. These are usually hand carved and painted and have a very unusual purple glow to them. These usually come in collections of two with each one costing about ten dollars. This won’t be your typical angel statue gift.
If you want something a little more practical and useful, you might want to consider getting an amethyst bracelet. Because each rock on the bracelet is unique, each bracelet itself is going to be unique. One thing you want to be aware of is to get a bracelet where the rocks have been polished down so there are no hard edges. You don’t want your spouse cutting herself or somebody else. You can pick up one of these bracelets for about ten dollars.
One of the most beautiful and unusual gifts you can get is an amethyst square pendant. These are usually mounted on silver. These are one of your more expensive amethyst made gifts, going for about $25.
There are also a number of other stones and pendants you can get that will make beautiful gifts. Just head down to your local jeweler and tell him what you’re looking for. If he knows anything about anniversaries, he’ll know just what to show you to make this year’s anniversary gift something you can be proud to give.
