Dating is hard work for some singles. Doing it “The American Way” makes it even harder work for some. In our culture we are so prone to trying to go it alone because we falsely believe that asking for help is a sign of weakness.

In the dating world we call this The Lone Ranger Trap, the commitment to doing it yourself and going it alone.
Signs and Symptoms
Believing that you don’t need anyone’s help in finding the love of your life.
Evaluating everyone you meet only for their relationship potential.
Do not take the opportunity to cultivate new friends.
What this leads to is isolation from others, the false perception of the scarcity of potential partners (another dating trap, by the way), and risk of settling for less than what you really want because you don’t want to be alone.
Your Solution: Develop a support network/community of friends of both genders. Allow them to support you in your search for the love of your life. Friends and neighbors, your support community can be great scouts in your search for “the one.” Who knows, the elderly couple down the street may have a fantastic grand daughter or grand son.
