Women love a man to be a challenge, not a pushover. That doesn’t mean that you have to be deliberately difficult, rude or argumentative, but don’t be ‘too nice’ either. Make it clear that you have a life and - if she is lucky - she can fit in with it, but you’re not about to throw in your job and your friends just to be with her.
Don’t fall over yourself to accommodate her every whim.
That’s probably the biggest, most common mistake made by men on first dates: giving in to everything she suggests, just because you are so knocked out that this woman has agreed to go out with you. Women test men all the time to see how easily they can be manipulated, and most men flunk the test. If she thinks that you are trying to get into her underwear by being ‘Mr Nice Guy’, she will make you work so hard for it your head will be spinning - and then she will more than likely drop you like a hot brick - after you’ve picked up the bill for dinner.
Be yourself. Have opinions. Make decisions. Take the lead. That’s what women want in a man.
The very last thing you want to be is emotionally needy. Clingy, needy men turn women off faster than any other type. Every now and then you might find one who wants to mother you, but one mother is enough for most people.
A lot of women like a man who is a bit of a rebel - a bit ‘on the edge’. You may not be James Dean, but if you wear a suit all week, try something different at the weekend.
