Need for a Better Defendable Border

By: Lance Winslow

It is unfortunate when you need to put a fence between yourself and your neighbor isn’t it? It is interesting how human civilizations want companionship just like we do in our own neighborhoods. If we wish to live close to one another and continue to achieve greater densities then we will obviously need to learn to get along better. It is unfortunate indeed that we see such conflicts in the world over issues of borders of nations and a human calamity to fight over man made lines drawn in the sand. It appears humans are no better than their nearest primate or mammalian counterpart species on the surface of the Planet, always busy marking their territory; pissing and then moaning when another encroaches on our wishful thinking for such a patch of land we claim as ours. Many a civilization has been caught in wars over such things and human history has shown this to be an inevitable and potential eventuality to come to terms with.

Presently the United States of America is not defending its borders properly because we are at peace with our neighbors, yet if you listen to some talk, peacefulness is not a term that pops into their minds. In fact to date it is estimated that there are over 22 million illegal aliens in the United States. And we know from records that 33% of most of our prison population is made up of illegal aliens which costs our civilization in many ways. In fact we could send 5 people to college for everyone one illegal alien in our prisons.

So, it is obvious that as bad as borders are, our civilization will need to secure these borders and then re-align our immigration rules to best serve the whole of our civilization. We must be fair to those who enter and not allow those who come here to do damage. We will need better control over our borders and we must defend them. Think on this in 2006.
