No Prosecutors Should Ever Hold Office

By: Lance Winslow

It has become apparent in hindsight that those politicians who have previously been prosecutors should never hold office. They often have a negative skewed view of the world having seen some of the worst of humanity. Such a view makes them elitists and untrusting of those they will need to work with, get along with and complete projects with. If we allow those who actually believe that all people are evil then they are going to treat us like prisoners in our own country, because they believe they are righteous and we are all minuscule and unworthy.

Ronald Reagan always believed in the American People, he was a great President and Leader, do we really want someone who thinks we are all stupid and unable to rule our own destiny, chase our own American Dreams and pursue our own happiness? Do we want a government that treats our nation like a locked down prisoners camp? Or do we want a leader who believes in us and the value we citizens bring to the table. Someone who never forgets that this government is “for the people and by the people” and no where in our doctrines or guidelines does it say we do not know what is best for us?

We are presumed innocent all of us first and foremost, those who have worked as prosecutors, well their training and job is to prove guilt and to look for guilt and seek it out at all costs, because well, quite frankly their jobs and careers depend on it. Is that the kind of person you want leading our nation or in the US Senate? And I am not picking on John F Kerry specifically, as Elliot Spitzer and others come from these same ranks, but the point needs to be made and we need a national discussion on the reality of the way these people think and how they use their jobs in a hypocritical way to promote themselves to purportedly serve us. I would not vote for a prosecutor politician if hell was freezing over and they owned the only pair of skis. Think on this.
