You think you may have found that special person? Well, at least her profile makes your heart beat a little faster.. so now it is time for that first email. You open your email program, but you just can’t think of what to write! This beautiful girl is probably receiving many messages every day, so how can you stand out from the crowd?
Keep it simple
Yes, that’s right. This is not the time yet for deep conversations, anything too poetic can be either not understood or misunderstood, especially if the girl you are contacting is in another country.
Be yourself
Just tell her a little about yourself, what do you love do to? What makes your blood flow? If you love sports, tell her a bit about that. Tell her about your life style and your day to day life. For most couples life style compatibility is a big priority, for example, if you are used to going to bars every weekend and your partner loves to stay in to watch movies.. then you may have a harder time finding things to do together. But even if you like opposite ‘activities’, it can actually be a good thing, as long as you are open to trying new things!
Avoid cliches!
Don’t tell her you love “long walks on the beach”, who doesn’t? Really, just avoid cliches in your first email. These generics do not tell her anything about you as a person. What makes you unique? Perhaps you have an interesting big family, or a unique job… tell her about that first, it will set you apart from the crowd, and increase your chances of getting an email back!
Don’t be too forward
You want to make sure you express your intentions in your email, but avoid being too forward. Let her know you want to get to know her better, but don’t get too carried away in your first email, even if you do think this person is perfect for you and you may want to marry her. As with any relationship, it needs some time to grow, on its own terms.
Don’t be insecure
Insecurity is a massive turn off for women, on the other hand men who are confident can be tremendously attractive just by that quality alone. Never put yourself down in your emails, even if you feel like she will probably not like you this is not something you should express. If you really think you don’t stand a chance, why would you email her? Aside from this, you are insulting to the woman if you act like you are not worthy of her. Many women are not too hung up on external appearances, even if she is gorgeous she will sooner fall in love with you if you are a great person, than if you are a super model who happens to be unattractive on the inside.
So, the morale of the story is that you should just be yourself, and be confident. You are worthy of real love, and you are worthy of a beautiful woman, so help her fall in love with you by showing her the real confident you!
