Over 10 Billion Being Spent in Advanced Energy Initiatives

By: Lance Winslow

Believe it or not the United States of America is well on its way to develop being cheaper, cleaner and much more reliable alternative energy technologies. You may not be aware of this, but the DOE Department of Energy has greatly increased to speed at which we are bringing these new alternative energy technologies to market.

Making diesel fuel from coal is one of the remarkable technologies, which has been created through working with private research and development companies and the Department of Energy. Additionally getting oil from shale in Canada is also now a very viable concept. Cellulose ethanol production and refining is also well on its way to be very viable and with new technologies which are able to limit the amount of water to crops need. Imagine growing our old fuel? They do it in Brazil already, but in the United States of America we have one point to cars for every man, woman and child and is going to be a little bit more difficult, but we can get it done.

These are just a few of the new technological breakthroughs that have been sponsored through the Department of Energy initiatives. There have been tremendous breakthroughs at MIT with solar cells and also with the University of Arizona at Tempe. There also been breakthroughs in fuel cell and hydrogen technologies.

A competitive energy market means lower prices for American families and it means the very best and most efficient and effective and innovative technologies the world has ever known. It is amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it.

The Bush administration’s advanced technology initiatives address the most important issues; “How we power our homes and businesses; and how we power our automobiles?” This challenge is being met by entrepreneurs, innovators, corporations and government cooperation; we are well on our way America to breaking our addiction to foreign oil and solving our present and future energy issues. Consider this in 2006.
