Palestinian Protestors Raid UN Over the Israeli Attacks
By: Lance Winslow
As Palestinian protesters raid a United Nations embassy in the Palestinian territory one has to wonder if the United Nations is impotent in the middle eastern power struggle between international terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah fighting Israel. Hezbollah used the United Nations lookout post in Lebanon to get away from the Israeli barrage of attacks.
The United Nations building was hit and four United Nations workers died. They were hit by Israeli shelling. But then a couple days later the Palestinian protesters raided a United Nations embassy in Palestinian territory. It appears the United Nations has no friends on either side.
As the Arab world asks for a cease-fire and help from the United Nations it appears that they are international terrorist groups are inciting violence against the United Nations. Israel cannot agree to a cease-fire because that would allow the international terrorist groups like Hezbollah to re-arm and that makes no sense while they have them on the run and are winning. Is it even possible for the United Nations to do anything?
It appears that the only person who can secure peace is Condoleezza Rice of the United States of America and yet neither side will agree to a cease-fire at this time. Even if a 24 hour or 36 hour cease-fire were to take place to help innocent civilians leave the area how can anyone be sure that either side would keep their word. For instance if Hezbollah attacks Israel; Israel will retaliate even during the cease-fire and that would simply make everything start again. Please consider all this in 2006.
