We were recently inspired into some research on the topic of anniversaries and we discovered very interestingly that the word anniversary is derived from the Latin language and it means ‘to turn yearly`? In literal terms, anniversary is a day that commemorates or celebrates some particular day associated with a specific event.
Real anniversary cards are basically a symbol of appreciation and congratulation that carry inscriptions related to the anniversary. People who are celebrating or commemorating any event on its anniversary often receive anniversary cards. Real anniversary cards are mainly pieces of paper, fabric or cardboard with goodwill messages inscribed on them. Anniversaries can be for a broad range of events, from wedding anniversaries on an individual level to independence anniversaries as a national occasion. Similarly, there are a wide variety of anniversary cards that cater for such anniversaries.
Anniversary cards can be colourful, they can be sober or even a blend of both but still have style and contain heart-felt good wishes. Anniversary cards are a very economical way of taking a full part in a celebration or commemoration of a particular event. Anniversary cards use to be a rare gesture of happiness but nowadays they are commercially produced in vast numbers covering an array of events. Real anniversary cards are sent to the recipient through the postal system or given by hand. Anniversary cards have also found a new way of meeting the requirements of people in the form of e-cards, electronic anniversary cards that can be sent and received virtually through the World Wide Web. However, such e-cards are often thought by recipients to be the result of the sender ‘forgetting them’ and using an e-card as a last minute, better than nothing, option.
In all, real anniversary cards are a great way of symbolising full participation in celebrating, enjoying and remembering and marking any special event with the recipients. These can range from birthdays to school graduations, as well as a wedding through to childbirth.
