Religion: A Fatal Attraction

The God of heaven is alive and well.
He has done His all
To keep you out of hell.
He sent His Son Jesus
His one and only
To shed His sinless blood
On the cross at Calvary
To open our eyes
That we might see
To open our ears
That we might hear
To touch our hearts
Enabling us to feel
The Spirit of the living God
Rose Christ from the dead
Therefore we too
Can get out of bed
For newness of life has come
Jesus paid the price for man’s sin
The job is done!
Now it is up to us to realize
To remove the scales of deception
From our eyes
To walk away from religion’s distraction
To not be ensnared
In its fatal attraction
For religion cannot save
Religion cannot heal
Religion cannot touch
It is not even real.
Religion is the creation of man
A mere mortal
Whose years are limited
Why then with religion
Should you be riveted?
Captivated and spellbound?
Enslaved and brought to the ground?
Get up you sleeper
Awake my friend
For religion wants to keep you
Until the end
But if you continue
Apart from God
Religion will take you
To itself
To the depths of hell
Where Lucifer dwells
Then your end will be
Clearly seen and revealed
For religion is worthless
Poisonous to the core
Deadly in all its dealings
While you innocently explore
Take one taste
And now another
In religion
There are no sisters and brothers
Religion is for spiritual orphans
People who shun the heavenly Father
Religion is for intellectuals
To make them feel smart
Religion is for the fearful
Who don’t want to live by faith
Nevertheless there’s always time to turn
Jesus lovingly will wait
There is however one problem
Religion does not tell you your fate
That it keeps you from heaven’s gate
From heaven’s blessings
Which can be experienced here on earth
By reason of the new birth
And in the afterlife as well
You don’t need to go to hell
Religion has an outward appearance and look
But cannot impart life
Religion is a lie
A detour from true life
Religion is void of spirituality
Religion is boring and without action
Religion is a fatal attraction.
