Religion in the Cross Hairs; Can Humankind Ditch Their Addiction?
By: Lance Winslow
Most people who have observed the current situation in the world and the world war that some say has already started believe that much of the problems around the globe are caused from world religions. World religion has certainly been in the crosshairs for a while and yet human kind will not ditch their addiction to these ancient customs, literature and tales slightly modified for modern times.
Perhaps it would be good to eliminate all world religion and therefore leave the human species with less to fight over. When your children are fighting over a toy sometimes it is best to take the toy away because they are abusing that toy in using it to cause conflict. This is seems to wake them up rather quickly and it helps them get along. Can we do the same thing with World Religions?
Why does humankind need relation in the first place? Sure, in previous times religion was needed to keep civilizations together and societies a strong, as they all believed in a common theme. Perhaps it did make sense at one time, but in the present period it simply no longer makes sense. There are too many variations of world religion and they are fighting over semantics.
When world religion is used to incite violence, wars and ignite World War III then I would say it is time for world religion to take a timeout and perhaps be completely eliminated to prevent further conflict, international terrorism and nuclear war. The human species is addicted to religion and they need some help. Unfortunately they will not admit they need help and therefore, here we go again as we repeat history. Consider this in 2006.
