Road Signs to Survive Hurricanes
By: Lance Winslow
After each Hurricane we see the damage on our Television sets and it is always the same, road signs down all over town, trees across the road and debris everywhere. Yet we can reduce much of the roadway debris, which prevents fast relief efforts from getting through and delaying emergency vehicles from rescuing victims in need.
We heard the complaints in Louisiana’s New Orleans area, where are the relief crews? Where is the food and water, medical supplies and the cries for help. This ended up calling for an over all investigation of FEMA after Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Rita also had many roads out. Then we had Hurricane Wilma in Florida, which twisted and Mangled Road signs, all of them. The big giant road signs above freeway over passes and freestanding large road signs taken out.
We can prevent all this by making our road signs out of carbon nanotubes construction. It is 250 times stronger than steel and flexible, meaning it will be there after the storm is done blowing its Category III, IV or V winds the next day. This will save taxpayers money, help relief efforts and cause less damage to nearby structures. It also means no one will be killed by flying road sign debris. Think on this.
