Romantic Date Ideas in New York

By: Ron Zvagelsky

New York provides an atmosphere where you can enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner, world famous apple martinis, and an abundance of music opportunities and venues that will sooth your soul with some the worlds greatest sounds.

The best way to start a romantic date out, of course, is to make sure you’re not headed out on an empty stomach. New York has some of the world’s finest restaurants. The city plays host to countless award winning dining experiences, and there certainly is no shortage of options for just about any taste that exists.

You’ll want to do your own research once you arrive in New York, but a good recommendation for a romantic dinner date is Le Marais. Located at 150W. 46th street, Le Marais serves up a wonderful mix of exotic foods and salads, and has a comfortable atmosphere to help digest the mouth watering flavors they provide.

Once you’re confident you’ve satisfied your appetite, you can slip into any of the nearby bars and lounges for a martini or a sip on your favorite drink. You’ll find it isn’t at all difficult to find a good place for a drink in the heart of New York City.

Once you’ve warmed your spirits with a drink or two, you can either visit one of the many theatres that New York City has mastered the art of, or you can take a walk through central park in preparation for some nightclub dancing or high energy entertainment.

When you’re ready to take your date out and show him/her what you’re made of, consider Fashion 40 lounge as a first stop. The lounge is located at the corner of 7th Ave, and many in New York consider it a hot spot and a must visit, especially if this is a first date. The club spins hip hop, reggae, R&B, and the occasional high energy DJ stops in for a night of electronic euphoria. Fashion 40 is a fairly new place all things considered, but it has quickly established itself as a major player in romantic nightlife and many rave reviews have spring from its clientele. Have a few drinks, laugh together over a few jokes, and then hit the dance floor for hours on end. From the sounds of things, you won’t be let down.

Once the two of you decide it’s time to move on, you can either take the next obvious step in making your romantic evening complete, or if you’re looking for a little “pick me up” to pump some energy into your veins, you can swing into DT/UT (downtown/uptown). DT/UT is a coffee lounge, restaurant, and bar packed into one unique experience.

From there, the rest of the night is yours to do as you please. Hopefully these romantic dating ideas will help make your dating experience a night to remember.
