Speak Loudly and Carry a Twig?

Is it just me or did we drastically change our foreign policy in the past few decades? What happened to; Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick? You know it seems we are so worried not to hurt anyone’s feelings that we are afraid to swing that bat at those nations, which defy world peace.
Those nation states, whose leadership threaten to; Blow Other Nations off the map. Threaten to build nuclear weapons and even purchase long-range missile platforms capable of carrying them to Europe, Asia and within the Middle East.
Nations who speak of righteousness and then send insurgents to foil a fledgling Democracy and kill innocent lives in bombings while attempting to incite civil war. Nations who fund International Terrorist Parties against their neighboring nations.
How can the United States of America known for strength and honor; fairness and virtue; gentleman like conduct and tough love, continue to deny the reality and threaten such nations with a little tiny twig brought by a dove who is being poisoned in Political Correctness of the very nations who perpetuate these issues, deny them and then continue like it is business as usual with their misdeeds.
What happened America, did you forget your roots? Did you forget about Baseball, Big Sticks and Apple Pie? Are we simply going to stand around and allow these things to continue as more people die?
