The Mind of Christ. Is it the Mind of God

By: Anthony Smith

There are many things in Scripture that bring about controversy and division, this is one of those subjects. No man knows all about scripture, we all have an interpretation, a vision, and a dream, we must share all we do know to invoke a thought process in all. This way we get others to read and become involved the interpretation process. Ars.

There is much controversy over weather Christ and God have the same mind. This is not the correct question thou. The question of the Holy trinity is all too clear, for God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are one. The real question is one that many are missing. Did Jesus of Nazareth have the mind of God, as the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Son of David, or was Jesus limited in certain knowledge that the Father only retained? That is, I believe, the correct question. In this message I will attempt to answer that question.

We believe in Jesus for two reasons, 1. The works that He preformed as the Son of Man and 2. The works that were preformed at the time of Resurrection. Jesus even stated this in his words to the Jews; John 10:37-38 ; If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
We see Jesus time after time declaring that He and His Father were separate but still one. This is where we arrive at the Holy Trinity. But what we are going to look at is the separation of Jesus from the Father.

Many called Jesus the Son of David, The Son of Man and The Son of God. Who then is He the Son of? Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root=(The first ancestor. In Scripture, to be rooted and grounded in Christ, is to be firmly united to him by faith and love, and well established in the belief of his character and doctrines. Eph 3.)(Webster.)and the offspring=(Propagation; generation.) of David, and the bright and morning star. The Lion of the tribe of Juda and the Root of David Mat 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: “the seed of David according to the flesh”; Seed=Progeny; offspring; children; descendants; as the seed of Abraham; the seed of David. In this sense, the word is applied to one person, or to any number collectively, and admits of the plural form; but rarely used in the plural. Race; generation; birth.(Webster.)

The Bible is clear about the powers that Jesus had, He received them from God the Father, for Jesus, you must remember was manifested in the Flesh and not in the Spirit. This was the only limitation that Jesus had, for He knew all about all, but when it came to Him having total recollection or transference of the Fathers Mind, Jesus did not know all, so the Mind of Jesus, The Son of Man, was separated from the Mind of God in a limited manner. We also have knowledge in limited manners. To have the mind of God and Christ we must know all that our Father knows, to this day we are still void of some knowledge, therefore we have the Mind of Jesus, knowing what He knew and not the Mind of God knowing all. For Jesus and Christ are separated by circumstances, Jesus being in the Flesh and Christ being in the Spirit. Jesus being made a little lower than the Angles and Christ being restored to His former Glory. The word,”Christ” is not a name but a title of authority. Think on this for a moment.

Sense God cannot be tempted by any man, God being manifested in the flesh was able to be tempted as per; Mat 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. In 1st.Co 10:9; we see Christ(God,Holy Ghost.)being tempted by some of the Jews and being destroyed.) “Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.”Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. You should be able to see the differences in the manifestation of God, Christ and Jesus Son of David. God, Christ will not be tempted by man, the penalty for such actions is destruction, but the temptation of Jesus brought no such reaction. Mat 22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

There are many things in Scripture that we don’t know, having the mind of Christ. Here is my first example; Mar 13:32, (Jesus Speaking;) ” But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. “neither the Son.” Next is this phrase from Luke 22:22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined:. DETERMINED=Ended; concluded; decided; limited; fixed; settled; resolved; directed.

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Tsk. Heb 2:9 -
Jesus: Heb_8:3, Heb_10:5; Gen_3:15; Isa_7:14, Isa_11:1, Isa_53:2-10; Rom_8:3; Gal_4:4; Phi_2:7-9

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

What we are actually addressing is a difference in interpretation. I firmly believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God The Holy Spirit. They are all one, but I also believe that there was a separation from the Father, thou limited, when Jesus was walking in the flesh. ars.
