Transparency and Accountability in Government can Produce Quantifiable Results
By: Lance Winslow
When we have transparency in Government we can see which programs work and which do not. Those that do not must be cut, as they are a waste of panty space or to put it politically correctly; a waste of Taxpayers money in the non-ending Blob of Bureaucracy.
Now then, what I like about the Bush Administration is that they agreed and worked with Congress to eliminate 89 government programs, which were inefficient and achieving less than desired results and this year they plan on taking out another 141 programs, which should save in the area of 15 Billion Dollars.
In fact by holding government agencies accountable there was a reduction in improper payments 7.8 Billion Dollars. Can you see why we need transparency in government? So far these programs are saving taxpayers some $900 million annually and they are also having the government get rid of unneeded assets that are costing taxpayers money in upkeep. So far saved; 3.8 Billion Dollars. You can learn more about this and the Federal Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 at;

The American People have made it clear, we do not want any more taxes and we want the government to stop wasting taxpayers monies. The Bush Administration has responded to these demands and is working to make sure the government is accountable. Consider this in 2006.
