Two Young Lovers

Young Love

Two turtle doves flew past the young lovers as they sat on the park bench. It was the middle of winter and snowflakes were falling from the cloudy dark blue sky. It was their one year anniversary. They had just gotten done eating dinner. The boy was thinking quite a bit about what was going on. He was thinking about the love he felt for his lover, he wondered if this was in fact love. Or was it infatuation? This was the first woman he had ever been with. As these questions of doubt were going on in his head, he remembered some words of wisdom his father had passed down to him earlier in his life, “Love is not doubtful, with doubt, means there is no love, love is a sure thing, which means you cannot feel complete love until you are positive that it is completely and honestly love, with no doubt in your mind.” At that point the boy pushed all his negative thoughts out of his head and was no longer doubtful of his love for his partner.

The girl also had thoughts floating trough her head. She at this point knew how much she loved the boy. There was no doubt in her mind. She had been with other boys before, but had never felt the feelings she was feeling right now. However though, she was scared that her love could be too strong, and she might scare the boy off. She was thinking she should let go of his hand, but she wondered what he would think if she did do that, so she decided to hang onto his hand tight. She also had doubts that this boy loved her. Some times, she felt like she did not receive the affection she deserved. Her mind was racing so fast, so she took a couple deep breaths, and that made her think of her mother. She remembers what her mother had told her about doubts. “Do not doubt the love that another person has for you, if you were mistaken, and they actually did love you, you will never know what you had let slip through your fingers.” She did not much take her mother’s advise, but her love for this boy was so strong that she felt guilty to not believe the love he had for her.

There hadn’t been a lot of conversation the entire time they sat on the bench, and so the boy figured he would say something to make it interesting, he didn’t want too bore her much, although he did like the peace and quiet. “Why do you love me?” he asked the girl. Bashfully, the girl replies. “Love is blind, but I can see you, I am not blind to our love, if it were not real I would not see it, but I do. Love hurts, but you make me feel good. And Mainly, because you don’t care if I fart!” The boy bursted out with laughter. “Your sense of humor is one of the reasons I love you so much!” he said. The two young lovers never doubted each other again.
